Contra Dancing, also called Traditional New England Folk dancing, involves couples dancing in two facing lines while following the directions of the
dance caller. Each dance is about 10 minutes long, after which everyone changes partners. Nils Fredland will call to the music of New England-based Crowfoot - Adam Broome, Jaige Trudel and Nicholas Williams on Sunday, January 11 at 7pm. Beginners are welcome and invited to arrive by 6:40 for an introductory lesson. Come alone or bring lots of friends. Wear dance shoes or clean, non-marking soft-soled shoes to save the floor and your feet. It is a fragrance-free event - no perfumes or scented after-shave, please.
